Dmytro Sementsov, a talented employee of Research and Production Enterprise ENERGO-PLUS LLC and a second-year Master’s student in Electrical Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electromechanics at Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University, has been awarded the academic scholarship of the President of Ukraine for the fall semester of the 2024-2025 academic year.
The Presidential Scholarship is granted to top-performing students of higher educational institutions in recognition of their exceptional accomplishments in academics and research activities.
During his studies, Dmytro participated in several international conferences, with the abstracts of his presentations published in the proceedings of these events. He also contributed to the contract-based research project under the title ‘Determination of Energy-Efficient Operating Modes for the SA-1 (GNS) Irrigation Pumping Station in the village of Pronozivka.’
Moreover, Dmytro is an active participant in the International Student Research Competition in Electrical Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electromechanics. Last year, he was awarded a third-degree diploma for his research work. In spring 2024, his Project on Concept of a Compact Stand for Studying Pump Station Automation earned first place in the competition.
Among Dmytro’s research work, there is also Development of a Project for a Compact Stand to Study the Principles of Pump Station Automation and Compact Stand for Studying the Automation of Cascading Control of Pumping Units.
‘It was a great honor to be awarded the scholarship, for which I wrote research papers and presented them at scientific conferences while also taking part in various university activities. I am deeply grateful to my supervisor, Andrii Kalinov, the Technical Director of ENERGO-PLUS, for his assistance in drafting the research abstracts. I enjoy working at ENERGO-PLUS, especially thanks to the amiable team and excellent leadership. In the future, I plan to keep working, grow professionally, learn new things, and become a good specialist,’ the scholarship recipient shared.
Yevhen Korf, the Head of Research and Production Enterprise ENERGO-PLUS LLC, stressed out that the spheres of electrical power engineering, electrical engineering, and electromechanics have always required well-trained personnel. Currently, due to mobilization, military actions, and the emigration of Ukrainians abroad, the issue of staff shortage will become even more pressing in the next five years.
ENERGO-PLUS sees the solution to this problem in close collaboration with specialized universities and vocational training institutions, where students receive a dual education, acquiring theoretical knowledge in educational institutions while gaining hands-on experience at the company at the same time.
‘We focus on developing our own specialists, researchers, and innovators by creating conditions for talented youth to realize their potential in Ukraine. Our company has signed an agreement with Kremenchuk National University, which trains specialists in Electrical Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electromechanics. In particular, our employees undergo additional certification to confirm their skills of working with specific types of equipment and participate in specialized seminars,’ noted Yevhen Korf.
This policy is already yielding results—more than 50 employees of ENERGO-PLUS joined the company in their final years at university and went on working upon graduation.
