Online Lecture for the Students of Kremenchuk National University: Oleksandr Kasich, Deputy Technical Director of ENERGO-PLUS, Shares His Experience in Implementing Automated Electric Drives

On March 26, 2025, fourth-year students of E-22-1s group (Electric Power Engineering) at Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University had the opportunity to meet with a university alumnus: Oleksandr Kasich, Deputy Technical Director of ENERGO-PLUS.

 

As a highly qualified specialist, Mr. Kasich was invited as a special guest during a lecture for the course Automated Electric Drives for Typical Industrial Mechanisms. During the session, Oleksandr Kasich talked about the activities of ENERGO-PLUS, current challenges faced by electrical engineering professionals, and innovative developments in the spheres of adjustable electric drives and the automation of technological processes.

 

In particular, using a real-life example of a variable-frequency drive system for a pumping station of a chemical water treatment plant, in detail, he explained the process of creating technical documentation, developing schematic diagrams of power equipment, designing a SCADA system, and the stages of project implementation based on Siemens frequency converters.

 

However, the meeting was not limited to theory alone. During the practical part of the session, thanks to real-time remote control, Mr. Kasich demonstrated various operating modes of electrical equipment, the setup of devices, the functioning of sensors, and protection systems. He also provided a meticulous explanation on how the pumping station operates under emergency conditions. At the end of the lecture, the students watched a video of the operation of the pumping station and its auxiliary equipment.

 

It is worth mentioning that ENERGO-PLUS actively supports local educational institutions and encourages students to deepen their knowledge of the chosen fields. Events like this are extremely valuable for future experts, as they gain hands-on experience and become familiar with current innovations in electrical engineering.
