Research and Production Enterprise ENERGO-PLUS LLC participated in the Open Day event, which took place on December 5, 2024, to celebrate Energy Day in Ukraine at Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University.

Celebrating Energy Day at the University has become a traditional event bringing together future applicants of the institution and representatives of socially responsible employers — companies from the real sector of the region and Ukraine as a whole.

This year, the attendees had the opportunity to see a specialized exhibition of industrial equipment, participate in a roundtable discussion with employers, listen to presentations from experts, etc.

The spheres of electrical power engineering, electrical engineering, and electromechanics have always required qualified specialists. Currently, due to mobilization, military actions, and the fact that Ukrainians have to flee from war, the issue of insufficient manpower is expected to become even more acute in the next five years.

ENERGO-PLUS sees the solution to the workforce scarcity dilemma through reinforcing close cooperation with educational institutions for joint training of qualified specialists.

‘Our University has always taken pride in the quality of specialists training in the energy sector. I can safely say that our institution provides training in Electrical Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electromechanics at the highest level. So, I want to thank our partner companies, whose involvement and support made the comprehensive preparation of specialists possible,’ said Mykhailo Zahirniak, Rector of Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University, during the opening ceremony.

One of those companies is ENERGO-PLUS. Back in 2020, under a cooperation agreement with Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University, the university received DIgSILENT PowerFactory 2019 Education License PF4E, licensed software developed by German specialists and extensively used by ENTOS-E European Energy Union and Ukrenergo. This facilitates detailed analysis and optimization of electrical networks considering modern systems of alternative and conventional power generation.

In 2022, a cooperation agreement was signed, which enables the students of  Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University to study under a dual education system in Specialty 141 ‘Electrical Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electromechanics.’ This system comprises acquiring theoretical knowledge at the university and simultaneously gaining hands-on experience at Research and Production Enterprise ENERGO-PLUS LLC.

‘We have established fruitful cooperation with various companies in Ukraine, ENERGO-PLUS in particular. The experience of training specialists at our University has made it possible for us to forge close bonds with the companies currently employing our graduates,’ said Tetiana Korenkova, Head of the Department of Automatic Control Systems and Electric Drives.

One of the brightest examples of the successful result of such cooperation is the fact that Dmytro Sementsov, the employee of ENERGO-PLUS, a second-year Master’s student in Electrical Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electromechanics at Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University, was awarded the academic scholarship of the President of Ukraine for the fall semester of the 2024/2025 academic year.

During his studies, Dmytro participated in several international conferences, whereas the abstracts of his reports were published in the proceedings of these events. He was also a performer of the contract-based research work under the title ‘Determining Energy-Efficient Operating Modes of SA-1 Melioration Pumping Station (GNS) in the village of Pronozivka.’

Moreover, Dmytro is an active participant in the International Student Scientific Work Competition  in Electrical Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electromechanics. Last year, Dmytro Sementsov was awarded a diploma of the third degree for his scientific work presented at the competition. Apart from that, in spring 2024, his work ‘Concept of a Compact Stand for Researching Pump Station Automation’ won first place in the competition.

‘Energo-Plus consortium comprises several companies and enterprises, each with their own specifics. However, they all comprehensively solve the tasks set by industry, the energy sector, and the market in general. Our contribution to the training of highly qualified specialists is one of our top priorities. Consequently, Energo-Plus is actively involved in the life of higher and specialized educational institutions, Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University in particular’, pointed out Oleksii Leshchuk, Deputy Technical Director of ENERGO-PLUS.

Energy Day is a professional holiday established by the Decree of the President of Ukraine in 1993 and celebrated annually on December 22.
